Legal Cashier

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Legal Cashier to join a leading international law firm. This is a key role within the finance function, responsible for handling day-to-day client account transactions and ensuring full compliance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules. You will play a vital part in maintaining the integrity of client funds while delivering a responsive, high-quality service to internal stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesProcess Client Account payments and receipts (including CHAPS, SWIFT and Faster Payments) accurately and in line with firm policiesEnsure all activities are fully compliant with SRA Accounts RulesCarry out daily client account banking and reconciliationsReview client balances regularly and support the return of residual fundsRun and check weekly reports to support compliance and good financial housekeepingLiaise with Partners and fee-earners regarding queries on client fundsMonitor the Cashiers mailbox, responding promptly to requestsProvide cover for bank reconciliation duties when requiredAssist in identifying and escalating potential breaches to the Cashiers ManagerCandidate RequirementsStrong working knowledge of the SRA Accounts RulesPrevious experience in a legal cashiering or professional services finance roleExperience working with client accounts in a law firmConfident communicating with senior stakeholdersAbility to prioritise multiple tasks and work calmly under pressureExcellent attention to detail with a methodical approach to financial processesProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)Experience using 3E and banking platforms such as RBS Bankline, HSBC.net or Barclays.net is advantageousPersonal AttributesA collaborative team player with a positive attitudeProfessional, reliable and able to exercise good judgementStrong communication skills and a customer-focused mindsetFlexible approach, including willingness to support busier periods such as month-endMotivated, organised and committed to delivering high standardsThis is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-regarded firm offering stability, development and a supportive culture.
