Find your place in technology on #TeamAmex.Key Responsibilities:Deliver features with a focus on quality, predictability and throughputWork in a nimble, agile environment which embraces uncertainty and evolving requirementsCollaborate with engineers from other teams to align on design and contribution guidelinesIdentify engineering challenges and drive them from ideation through to deliveryPerform technical discovery work prior to work being brought into the backlogEnsure our solutions are testable, intuitive and easy to maintainDrive good engineering principles, patterns, and practicesBe an advocate for great developer experienceParticipate in design and code reviewsCelebrate team achievements and failuresAdvances the design, development, testing, and deployment of software applications and systemsDrives the modification, documentation, and maintenance of software to ensure high reliability and availabilityCollaborates with cross-functional teams to address advanced technical challenges and optimize application performanceAnalyzes system requirements and delivers innovative technical solutions to enhance software quality and efficiency Completes code reviews and automated testing to maintain high-quality code standardsCollaborates and co-creates effectively with teams in product and the business to align technology initiatives with business objectivesMinimum Qualifications and Experience:Proven track record of delivering great software solutionsDepth of knowledge and ability to demonstrate hands-on coding in at least one language from Java, Kotlin, Go and PythonApplication design, software development, and testing experience in an agile environmentExcited by learning and experimenting with new languages and technology and translating this into working softwareWilling to take risks and share fresh perspectivesSelf-directed and able to work in an ambiguous environment through the innovation processValues collaboration and puts team interests firstContributions to open source/InnerSource projects is a plusExperience in application design, software development, and automated testingExperience in object-oriented design and coding with variety of languagesExperience in distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational databasesExperience in Agile software development methodologies and practices such as Scrum/Kanban, iterations, user storiesExperience in automation testing and documentation (i.e. automated, functional, and performance)Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the UK is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.We back you with benefits that support your holistic well-being so you can be and deliver your best.
