Who We Are Looking ForThis is an excellent opportunity to work within an operational team responsible for processing international cash payment transactions. Responsibilities include effectively managing daily GBP activity between State Street and the UK Market (Via CHAPS), providing Network Controller coverage to the domestic USD market, monitoring & processing all international payment queues for last touch cash, exception management, processing cancelation & amendment instructions and any other payment related functions supported by Global Delivery - Payments.Why this role is important to usThe team you will be joining is a part of State Street Global Delivery (SSGD). From core custody, accounting, fund administration and shareholder recordkeeping, to complete operations solutions and servicing for alternative assets like OTC derivatives, private equity and real estate, SSGD’s tools help our clients make better investment choices and act on growth opportunities.Join us if making your mark in the financial services industry from day one is a challenge you are up for.What You Will Be Responsible ForAs Payments, Senior Associate you willManage day to day GBP payment flows and balances through the UK CHAPS schemeParticipate in mandatory market/industry testing throughout the yearBecome an SME for Complex queriesAssist the team manager in leading Payment Industry Testing and other team tasks as required.Support junior staff with assistance, training and buddying as required. Provide US Network Controller coverage for the domestic USD MarketMonitor & process all activity in a variety of payment queues and systems accurately, timely and by currency deadlinesEfficiently assist internal and external clients with complex research, queries and issuesEnsure errors and exposure to financial loss are minimizedBe aware of all business continuity plans and escalate issues that could involve invoking of contingency procedures to the supervisorSupport the effective functioning of the global team and the transition of workflow between different geographical locationsWhat We ValueThese skills will help you succeed in this roleExperience in a banking role is preferredPrevious experience of working within a CHAPS clearing environment highly advantageousOverall knowledge of cash related financial services productsProficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft excelFlexibility in working hours (required)Education & Preferred QualificationsNo specific requirements as full training will be providedAdditional RequirementsAbility to work under pressure and in a deadline driven environmentAbility to work accurately and with attention to detailAbility to work as part of a busy teamAbility to multi-taskAbout State StreetAcross the globe, institutional investors rely on us to help them manage risk, respond to challenges, and drive performance and profitability.
