The post holder will ensure effective governance and implementation across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and work closely with private land agents. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Housing Development team as a Principal Housing Development Officer to manage the delivery of the affordable housing programme. This post presents an excellent opportunity for a focused and driven individual to use their existing skills and experience and apply them across the Highlands to deliver a development programme to meet both current and future housing needs in both urban and rural areas.ResponsibilitiesManage the delivery of the agreed housing development programme.Meet the objectives of the Local Housing Strategy.Implement the Strategic Housing Investment Plan.Oversee the Highland Housing Challenge.Ensure effective governance across stakeholders.Work closely with private land agents.QualificationsEducated to degree level or relevant professional qualificationORDemonstrate evidence of degree level of educational ability through experience of working in an equivalent job roleRequired SkillsSignificant experience of managing multiple complex projectsExperience of partnership working across the public and private sectors.Experience of leading and managing high performing teams or collaborative partnerships.Experience of negotiating complex land, acquisitions and/or major building contractsDriving licence and/or access to personal transport and be willing to be flexible about travel for work and training purposes.Experience of budget/resource management.Pay range and compensation package£55,983 - £61,243 per yearEqual Opportunity StatementThe Highland Council understands that diversity fosters creativity and innovation.
