Assistant Underwriter

During over fifty years of trading, our expertise has enabled us to create a broad range of specialist insurance solutions, in-house claims teams and market-leading risk management services.As an Assistant Underwriter, you’ll provide vital support to the Schemes Underwriter and Schemes Underwriting Manager. Working in a team of 3, and a wider office of 45, you will be based in our Modern Leatherhead site, which is in easy walking distance from the station and bus routes. This is an office-based role, working Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:15 pm.Key objectives & responsibilities will include:Key Responsibilities:Assisting with negotiations and agreeing renewals and new business within delegated authority.Preparing and issuing quotations, policy documentation, endorsements, and associated paperwork.Liaising with brokers and internal teams to gather information and ensure timely delivery of documentation.Maintaining accurate records through data entry, system updates, and reporting.Supporting credit control processes and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.Effectively manage personal workload, including inboxes, diaries, and underwriting files.Contributing to risk assessment and pricing activities as expertise develops.About YouTo join us as an Assistant Underwriter, you’ll bring a strong insurance background and a genuine passion for developing your expertise in underwriting.
