The Payments & Blockchain team is responsible for the first and last mile of every dollar (digital or fiat) that goes in or out of Kraken, as well as driving strategic decisions that improve asset listings and liquidity.Within this group, the Custody team focuses on safeguarding client assets and building the infrastructure that enables secure, efficient, and scalable crypto custody operations. The team designs and manages custody frameworks that balance operational agility with institutional-grade security standards, ensuring that Kraken’s clients (from individual traders to large institutions) can trust the protection and accessibility of their digital assets.The Custody team partners closely with Engineering, Security, Compliance, and Product teams to develop and maintain wallet infrastructure across hot, warm, and cold environments, oversee private key management, and continuously strengthen the systems that protect client funds.
