Business Development Representative

Role Overview:As a Business Development Representative, you will be responsible for creating qualified sales meetings for our Sales team – turning marketing-qualified leads (MQLs) into sales-qualified leads (SQLs). You will also support the sales process and actively contribute to both direct sales and partner growth initiatives. You will work across both our sales and partner channel, helping to expand our customer base by contributing to the development of the top sales funnel.You will work closely with the Marketing Team and the Technical Presales team, participate in sales calls, follow up on leads from events, and help identify and pursue new business opportunities. Your role will be focused on generating new customer and partner opportunities.The position sits within the Marketing team and reports to the Marketing Director. Key Responsibilities:Qualify inbound Marketing Qualified Leads and ensure timely follow-up.Follow up on leads generated from marketing campaigns, events, and trade shows.Convert MQLs to SQLs by actively communicating with them over multiple channels – email, social media, and events.Research and identify new business opportunities and potential clients.Build relationships with prospects and educate them on our services and technology.Research and identify prospective new partners for the company.Maintain accurate records of activities and pipeline in the CRM.Collaborate with the marketing team on lead generation and conversion strategies. What We’re Looking For:Experience in sales, business development, or presales (B2B experience preferred) in the IT industry or with a technical background is a plusExperience or a strong interest in partner management and channel sales is desirable.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to quickly understand a range of technical subjects (such as IT infrastructure, cloud, virtualisation and open source) and explain their benefits to Enterprise prospectsGood general understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud and virtualisation and a desire & ability to understand these in much more detailProactive and self-motivated, with a strong sense of ownership.Experience using CRM systems (e.g., Connectwise, HubSpot) is a plus.Result-driven and ambitious, eager to achieve targets and grow into the sales function. Career Growth:This position offers a growth path to a Sales Manager or Partner Account Manager. As you gain industry expertise and knowledge in Apache CloudStack and open-source and demonstrate strong performance in lead generation and presales activities, you’ll have the opportunity to take on more responsibility in sales activities, presales, and ultimately, closing new business. The positions offer opportunities to travel and speak at international events and contribute to the overall sales strategy.
