As part of the central IT team, you'll play a key role in ensuring that staff and students benefit from reliable, secure, and modern IT systems. The role will be based at a high school in Oldham 5 days a week onsite. Your new role As an IT Support Technician (2nd/3rd Line), you will:Provide advanced technical support across the Trust, resolving escalated IT issues promptly.Manage and maintain hardware, software, and network infrastructure.Collaborate with the Head of IT Services and colleagues to deliver IT projects and upgrades.Train and guide staff on IT systems and best practices.Monitor backups, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity protocols.Liaise with external IT service providers to ensure efficient delivery of services.Support the development and enforcement of IT policies and procedures.Ensure compliance with GDPR and safeguarding requirements.What you'll need to succeed Proven experience in IT support, ideally within education or a multi-site environment.Strong technical knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365, and networking (DNS, DHCP, VLANs).Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach.Ability to work independently and collaboratively.Enhanced DBS A full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel between sites occasionally Knowledge of school management systems (SIMS, Arbor).What you'll get in return A supportive and collaborative working environment.The chance to make a meaningful impact on education through technology.Competitive daily rate and weekly pay A dedicated consultant at Hays to assist with any compliance, payroll and to offer new opportunities.What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.If this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion about your career.Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
