We're supporting a leading manufacturer in recruiting a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to head up their engineering operations and play a key role in driving performance, reliability, and innovation across the site.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a hands-on leadership role—optimising equipment, improving processes, and enabling new product development within a fast-moving production environment.Leadership & Team ManagementLead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers and technicians across maintenance, process engineering, and product engineering.Set clear objectives, manage performance, and promote a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.Coordinate cross-functional activities to align engineering output with wider production goals and business strategy.MaintenanceOversee preventive and predictive maintenance programmes to maximise equipment uptime and reliability.Conduct root cause analysis on equipment issues and implement corrective actions.Ensure maintenance activities comply with all safety and regulatory standards.Process EngineeringOptimise manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost control.Introduce Lean and Six Sigma tools to reduce waste and boost throughput.Lead process improvement initiatives across the facility.Product EngineeringSupport new product introduction (NPI) and ensure smooth transition from design to manufacture.Work closely with Design and R&D teams on manufacturability and scalability.Maintain accurate documentation for processes, tooling, and equipment.Continuous Improvement & StrategyDeliver productivity enhancements, downtime reduction and quality improvements.Analyse production data, identify trends, and implement strategic corrective plans.Contribute to long-term engineering and capital investment strategy.Compliance & StandardsEnsure compliance with ISO, health & safety, and environmental standards.Maintain robust documentation for audits and regulatory requirements.What You’ll BringBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (Master’s preferred).7+ years’ experience in manufacturing engineering with proven leadership responsibilities.Strong understanding of maintenance systems, process optimisation, and product lifecycle management.Skilled in Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
