You’ll work closely with experienced professionals, contribute to strategic bids, and help deliver projects that matter.Role SummaryThe Estimator supports the Bid Team in preparing accurate and competitive tenders for civil engineering and infrastructure projects. Working under the guidance of the Senior Estimator, the role involves analysing tender documentation, preparing cost estimates, and engaging with the supply chain. The Estimator contributes to the successful delivery of bids and tenders by ensuring timely and detailed estimating work.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in the preparation and submission of bids and tendersAnalyse tender documents and prepare cost estimates under supervisionDevelop Bills of Quantities (BOQs) from drawings and specificationsLiaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotationsMaintain estimating databases and toolsSupport the Senior Estimator in bid strategy and complianceQualifications, Experience & SkillsQualifications:Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalentAlternatively, qualified by experienceExperience:Minimum 2 years in estimating or quantity surveying within civil engineering or constructionExperience in supporting bids and tenders is desirableSkills / Knowledge:Strong numerical and analytical skillsFamiliarity with estimating software (e.g., Causeway, Conquest) - Essential Understanding of standard Methods of Measurement and SpecificationsAwareness of standard forms of contract – NEC, JCTGood communication and teamwork skillsAbility to interpret technical drawingsProficient in Microsoft Office SuiteAttention to detail and ability to meet deadlinesIn addition to this rolewe also offer an extensive range of career development opportunities and industry-leading rewards, incentives and benefits including:Bonus schemeEnhanced holiday entitlementContributory pension schemeAccess to the Tarmac Reward website with discounts on retailers, holidays, etc.Access to our Employee Assistance helpline for free and confidential adviceAccess to join our Employee Communities (employee networks) we currently have nine communities inc.
