Together we’re building a world-class platform to amplify our teams’ most powerful ideas.As part of our engineering team, you’ll shape the platforms and tools that drive high-impact research - designing systems that scale, accelerate discovery and support innovation across the firm.The roleSecurity is at the heart of everything we do at G-Research and we believe every engineer should be empowered with the tools to make smart security decisions throughout the entire development lifecycle—from writing code, during compilation to deployment.Ensuring productivity for our delivery teams is equally critical and we integrate security seamlessly into existing workflows wherever possible.As part of our DevSecOps team, you will play a key role in supporting our engineers and securing our applications, infrastructure and services. Your responsibility will be to ensure our engineers have everything they need to make security a priority, without compromising on efficiency.Key responsibilities of the role include:Designing, implementing and operating security services including PKI, secret management and secure software development lifecycle toolsDesigning, deploying and maintaining secure, scalable and resilient software platforms to meet the security needs of our engineering teamsTroubleshooting and resolving operational issues, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and customersProactively identifying and suggesting improvements to our infrastructure, security practices and operational processesYou’ll be joining an exciting, fast-paced environment where you’ll be working with some of the best engineers in the industry.We invest heavily in technology, training, career development and cross-team growth opportunities, including conference attendance and professional development resources.Who are we looking for?The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:Proficiency in programming with a strong command of at least one language, with Python and C# preferredStrong experience with DevOps practices, such as CI/CD pipelines (such as Jenkins and GitLab), Infrastructure as Code (such as Terraform and Ansible) and observability tools (such as Prometheus, ELK and Grafana)Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration technologies, such as Docker or Kubernetes,, cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure and Google Cloud and a solid understanding of Linux environmentsInterest in solving security problems with experience in one or more of these security areas a plus: Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) Secret management Secure SDLCExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to work directly with engineers and stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challengesA quick learner, who is proactive, self-motivated and has strong communication skillsThe ability to work independently while being a collaborative team playerWhy join us?Highly competitive compensation plus annual discretionary bonusLunch provided (via Just Eat for Business) and dedicated barista bar30 days’ annual leave9% company pension contributionsInformal dress code and excellent work/life balanceComprehensive healthcare and life assuranceCycle-to-work schemeMonthly company events
