Technical Solutions ConsultantLocation: Gatwick (Hybrid)A leading provider of data centre and digital infrastructure solutions is expanding its European operations and now seeks a Technical Solutions Consultant to join its team. This is a pivotal, client-facing role supporting both technical solution design and the long-cycle consultative sales process.This position is ideal for individuals with a blend of technical understanding, customer-facing skills, and the ability to guide clients through complex solution decisions. The organisation is open on background—M&E, data centre, IT infrastructure, manufacturers, installation or solutions-led environments—but some DC exposure is required.The OpportunityAs a Technical Solutions Consultant, you will act as the technical authority throughout the engagement cycle—working closely with sales, engineering, and delivery teams to understand requirements, design solutions, and support clients through a detailed and often long sales process. You will contribute to both technical excellence and commercial success, ensuring solutions meet client needs while remaining operationally and financially robust.This role offers strong career development, exposure to cutting-edge projects across Europe, and the chance to influence solution design within a fast-growing business.Key ResponsibilitiesEngage with new and existing customers to understand technical and business requirementsDevelop and present tailored solution proposals, including technical specifications and commercial modelsProvide technical expertise during client meetings, bids, and presentationsCollaborate with engineering and delivery teams to ensure solutions are feasible and deliverableStay informed on emerging technologies and industry trendsSupport continuous improvement of solution design processes, documentation, and standardsContribute to opportunity development that improves profitability, including Value EngineeringDrive innovation and challenge customer thinking to differentiate solutionsRequirementsTechnical & Commercial SkillsStrong technical acumen across data centre or IT infrastructure (M&E or IT backgrounds considered)Experience in technical consulting, pre-sales, solution design or similar (ideally 3+ years)Ability to support a long, consultative sales cycle rather than fast-turn transactional workClear, persuasive communicator with strong presentation skillsAbility to build trust-based relationships with clients and internal teamsUnderstanding of relevant H&S regulations, CDM, and safe working practicesPersonal AttributesCustomer-focused with a long-term relationship mindsetAdaptable, problem-solving mindsetProactive in driving improvement and maintaining technical competencyKey Performance IndicatorsQuality, accuracy and commercial soundness of solution proposalsClient satisfaction and relationship strengthSupport in successful bid conversions and delivery outcomesContribution to innovation and continuous improvementSolutions that increase profitability and challenge customer thinkingWhat’s on OfferCompetitive salary + 20% bonus + car allowance + medical & standard benefitsHybrid working from the Gatwick officeStructured career development within a growing international environmentExposure to complex and high-impact digital infrastructure projectsIndustry-leading training and long-term career progression opportunities
