Job Title: Electronics Engineer
Type: Full time
Job Responsibilities: Repair and service of RF and microwave systems. Our focus is satellite communication amplifiers so a working knowledge of this type of equipment would be a distinct advantage. Training will be provided to enhance and develop skills in this field.
One aspect of Powerlink’s business is to offer technical support to customers by telephone, so the candidate will be able to handle technical enquiries, capture the important information and pass it on to the team as required.
As new faults, diagnoses and repairs are discovered it is necessary to record the essential information so that the team develops a core of technical competence. Documenting the fault-finding process and producing simple documentation to support other engineers and technicians is essential.
Essential Job Functions:
The successful candidate will have some experience of fault diagnosis and repair of electronic systems and ideally be qualified to BSc, HND level. Applicants with other qualifications (HNC, BTEC, NVQ4) with demonstrated experience will also be considered.
Knowledge of safe working practices to ensure that your work does not endanger you or others.
A working knowledge of power RF/microwave, co-axial and waveguide systems.
Knowledge of RF and microwave test equipment (for example: signal sources, spectrum analyzers, power meters and).
Knowledge of simple mechanical systems.
Soldering skills.
A working knowledge of computers and Windows.
The ability to be a good listener, and to really understand a customer problem or question and help them solve it.
Good telephone manner.
