Foster + Partners is a global studio for architecture, engineering, urban and landscape design, rooted in sustainability.

We are seeking a skilled and proactive IT Infrastructure Engineer to join our team and support our cutting-edge architectural and design environment. Reporting to the Enterprise IT Infrastructure Manager, you will manage and maintain our on-premises, regional, and cloud infrastructure, ensuring seamless operation of systems such as VMware, Windows Servers, Active Directory, storage solutions, and enterprise applications.

Key skills:

  • 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in infrastructure management, or a similar role.
  • Hands-on experience managing VMware environments, including virtual machine provisioning, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience managing storage platforms (e.g SAN and NAS), with a strong understanding of storage architecture, capacity management, and performance optimisation.
  • A good knowledge of Windows Server management, including installation, patching, upgrades, and decommissioning.
  • Strong knowledge of Active Directory, including user and group administration, Group Policies, and domain controller maintenance.
  • Basic experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration, including performance monitoring, DB backups, and patching.
  • Strong Knowledge of backup solutions and implementing disaster recovery procedures to ensure data protection and system recovery.
  • Experience in automating infrastructure tasks using scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve complex infrastructure issues in a timely manner.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on documenting solutions, processes, and changes clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A proactive approach to working with cross-functional teams and showing initiative in identifying and implementing infrastructure improvements.
