Job Description

Probitas Syndicate 1492 an innovative and dynamic Lloyd’s Syndicate requires a Casualty Claims Adjuster for to be part of a market-leading claims team.

We are looking for: 

·           A dynamic team player with a hands-on and can-do approach 

·           An individual who is motivated, with strong ambition; and an ability to determine claims strategy and exploring options

·           Experience in handling UK and International Casualty claims

·           Reporting to: Head of Claims (Casualty and Financial Lines)

Key Responsibilities 

·           Engagement with and execution of our claims strategy and philosophy 

·           Casualty claims handling 

·           Referrals from delegated claims administrators 

·           Claims reporting to stakeholders and business working groups, with a particular focus on maintaining the integrity and adequacy of reserving 

·           Technical review and approval of claims bordereaux 

·           Support and provide input to claims projects and strategic initiatives 

·           Support and develop relationships with key business functions 

Skills, Knowledge & Experience 

·           Casualty claims handling experience within the London Market across multiple jurisdictions

·           Knowledge of London Market claims handling processes and procedures 

·           Understanding of London Market standards and principles

·           Experience of working with delegated claims administrators and technical review of bordereaux 

·           Technical proficiency with good working knowledge of London Market systems 

·           Financial acumen, including monitoring of claims activity and financial trends 

·           Visibility in the claims community with solid industry contacts 

·           Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written 

·           Confident to interact with all levels of staff within the business and manage internal and external stakeholders 

·           Strong organisational skills 

·           Diligent with an eye-for-detail 

·           Ability to analyse and interpret wordings will be an asset 

·           Always acts with the utmost integrity and to the highest ethical standards
