our founders built a brand focused on giving back. Today Gandys supports multiple projects in some of the world’s poorest regions. We donate 10% of every order to fund our education projects around the world.

We collaborate with local charities to provide disadvantaged children with the educational

support they need to get a better start in life.


Responsibilities

As a Junior Buyer or entry level Buyer, you will independently manage a product range,

collaborating closely with the Head of Product to develop a commercial, trend-driven product

selection that aligns with the brand's vision and profitability goals. You will be responsible for

supplier relationships, monitoring performance, and working cross-functionally to optimise

product assortments.


Range Planning : Develop a commercially viable product range aligned with brand identity, customer needs, and seasonal trends.

Product Selection : Choose products that meet quality, trend, and pricing expectations while being competitive in the market.

Trend Forecasting : Monitor market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activities to guide product selection.

Supplier Negotiation : Manage supplier relationships, negotiate prices, terms, and lead times to ensure quality and profitability.

Quality Assurance : Ensure products meet quality standards by collaborating with suppliers on specifications and requirements.

Sales & Market Analysis : Review product performance, sales data, and customer insights to optimise product offerings and stock levels.

Profitability Focus : Drive profitability through strategic pricing, cost management, markdowns, and promotional activities.

Seasonal & Strategic Planning : Coordinate product launches, manage stock availability, and balance short- and long-term goals.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration : Work with merchandising, design, and marketing teams to align product offerings with company objectives.

Operational Support : Oversee inventory, system management, sample coordination, and support junior buyers in daily tasks.


Qualifications & Skills


This Buyer role is well-suited for someone with a strong foundation in buying, commercial

acumen, and the capability to manage a product range independently while contributing to

the broader team and brand goals.


Experience: Proven experience as a Junor Buyer/Buyer, ideally within the clothing

and accessories industry.

● Product and Trend Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of clothing and accessories

products, materials, and trends, with the ability to identify products that align with

customer needs and brand identity.

● Analytical and Commercial Skills: Strong analytical abilities to interpret sales data,

recognize trends, and make data-driven decisions that enhance profitability.

● Communication and Negotiation: Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build

and maintain supplier relationships and work collaboratively with internal teams.


● Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise effectively, and

meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

● Leadership and Development: Ability to guide and mentor Junior Buyers,

supporting their development and providing direction.

● Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with buying and

retail management systems.
