Job Description

Financial Accountant
One of our public sector clients is looking for a Finance Lead to join them for a 6 month contract. This role would be hybrid working 2 days per week based in Huntingdon. This role will be inside IR35 and offering 245 per day.
As the Financial Accountant, you will ensure the integrity and accuracy of all income, capital expenditure and balance sheet transactions recorded in the organisation's General Ledger and adherence to the requirements of the organisation's Standing Orders, Standing Financial Instructions and Scheme of Delegation.
You will facilitate production of timely and relevant information for the completion of monitoring reports to various boards including capital reporting. You will prepare and complete statutory accounts in line with guidelines, interpreting these when necessary, ensuring local and national.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Highly developed communication skills with the ability to communicate complex financial data to non-finance managers
- Communicate contentious information to an audience that may not be receptive
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, including the production of Committee papers
- Strong leadership qualities
- Ability to form judgements and make autonomous decisions guided by policies and procedures
- Confidence in using IT eg Microsoft eg Microsoft Office, integrated financial ledger system, databases with accurate output
- The ability to negotiate effectively with a wide range of people and professionals up to Board Level, both internally and externally (desirable)
- Experience of finance systems development (desirable)
