Derivatives Developer / Analyst


  • Day Rate: £500 p/d Inside IR35
  • Arrangement: 2 Days a Week in Central London
  • Term: 6 - 12 Months
  • Start: ASAP


We are seeking a talented Derivatives Software Developer to join a leading global financial services organisation. The role focuses on the digital transformation of the derivatives industry, specifically in the adoption of the Common Domain Model (CDM) and Digital Regulatory Reporting (DRR). You will play a key role in developing and extending models, addressing technical queries, and collaborating with industry stakeholders to enhance and implement CDM/DRR solutions.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and extend CDM & DRR models, focusing on collateral management and regulatory reporting.
  • Collaborate with members to map proprietary models and data standards like FpML.
  • Contribute to agile development processes by translating requirements into technical specifications and user stories.
  • Write user documentation for new code and technical contributions.
  • Engage with the open-source community and industry experts to ensure model accuracy and relevance.
  • Assist in project management, ensuring timely implementation of CDM and DRR solutions.


Key Skills & Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in financial services, specifically in derivatives.
  • Strong programming skills in Java or Python, with hands-on experience in GitHub, XML, JSON, and DevOps.
  • Experience in data modeling, particularly for financial products, transactions, and legal documentation.
  • Proficient in using development tools such as Eclipse or IntelliJ.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Knowledge of collateral management and regulatory reporting is highly preferred.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in finance, engineering, or technology).
  • Experience in derivatives, financial technology analysis, and open-source contributions is a plus.
