Overview:

Our client, a highly regarded national accountancy firm, is looking for a qualified Accounts Assistant Manager to join their expanding team in Edinburgh. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional seeking to take on more responsibility in a supportive and collaborative environment. You will manage budgets, lead a team, and oversee high-quality financial deliverables for a varied client portfolio.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Budgeting & Review: Draft and review budgets, ensuring effective allocation and monitoring throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Team Leadership: Delegate, supervise, and review the work of senior and junior team members, supporting their growth and development.
  • Financial Statement Oversight: Review draft financial statements to ensure they meet client requirements and industry standards.
  • Performance Monitoring: Oversee budgets for client accounts, proactively identifying any issues and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Team Performance Management: Take responsibility for setting clear goals and ensuring the team meets performance standards.


Candidate Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Fully qualified ACCA, ACA, or ICAS accountant.
  • Experience: Demonstrated expertise in preparing year-end financial statements, management accounts, and VAT returns.
  • Leadership: Proven experience managing teams, with a commitment to fostering a positive work environment.
  • Client-Focused: Strong communication skills for effective client management, with an eye for detail and quality in financial deliverables.
