Job Description

APP Wholesale Ltd is a national distributor of central heating, renewables, hot water and plumbing products serving thousands of customers daily throughout the UK dealing with some of the biggest and most respected manufacturers.


A leading supplier within the industry, offering an unrivalled service and fulfilment prospect, supported by a dedicated and knowledgeable team located in nine strategic locations.


An opportunity has now become available for someone to join our External Sales Team to manage a well-established territory of South Coast and Kent.


  • Job Title: External Sales Representative
  • Area: South Coast and Kent
  • Salary: Fully dependent on experience

Your responsibilities will be as follows:


  • Manage and increase sales on a well-established area, as well as identifying new customers
  • Achieve area sales and profit targets as agreed by the company
  • Think strategically - seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives to develop and improve the business
  • Manage your own time to ensure you gain maximum productivity to achieve goals and targets
  • Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and customer relationships
  • Present, promote and sell products through existing customer base and potential new customers
  • Maximise profit by upselling and promoting the whole range of goods, with particular focus on higher margin product / brands whilst maintaining core business
  • Analyse trading accounts, cross reference all aspects of those accounts to improve customer trading performance, by using the company reporting system
  • Build and maintain trading relationships with manufacturers and use to your advantage and that of our trading partners
  • Liaise with appropriate depots where necessary to ensure highest level of customer service is provided and feedback any matters that may affect company performance
  • Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitor, and market activities, along with any potential for new products and services
  • Keep customer records, call plans and call note’s up to date via the company CRM system
  • Gain a good understanding of the businesses' products or services and be able to advise others about them


The successful candidate should possess the following:


  • Sales experience within the Plumbing & Heating market (External sales, preferred but not essential)
  • A proven sales record
  • Positive and can-do attitude with plenty of perseverance
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Good analytical skills
  • Excellent relationship building skills
  • Impeccable desire to reach and exceed targets
  • Clean driving licence
