Job DescriptionWe are currently working in partnership with a Local Authority client in the West Midlands, who are looking to appoint a Homelessness Lawyer to join the team on a locum basis for an initial 6-12 months.The role offers home working, with regular Court attendance required in the West Midlands at short notice. The hourly rate for the role is £45 p/hour UMB.Duties will include (but are not limited to): Managing a mixed caseload of Homelessness Law with matters including pre-action protocols, judicial review and appealsAdvising the client on homelessness and appeal queries, the Homelessness Reduction Act and legislation, including instances where applicants have been housed in B&B accommodation for over 6-weeksAttending Court trials in the West Midlands on an ad-hoc basis, alongside a BarristerSupporting the City Solicitor and Legal team with regard to the conduct of legal caseworkExperience required:Conducting own advocacyStrong knowledge of Housing Management & ASB Working hours:35 hours per week Monday – Friday Please note that you require recent experience to apply for this role.James Andrews is acting as an employment agency and business in relation to this role.At James Andrews Recruitment Solutions we try to respond to all applications personally, however, due to the high volume of applications this is not always possible.
