English Graduate Teaching Assistant | Richmond | January 2025

English Graduate Teaching Assistant – Responsibilities:

  • Support English teachers in planning and preparing engaging lesson content for secondary pupils.
  • Lead small group sessions or one-to-one tutoring to help with reading comprehension and essay writing.
  • Facilitate group discussions, encouraging students to analyse and interpret texts.
  • Assist in managing classroom behaviour to maintain a productive environment for focused English study.
  • Use digital resources and educational tools to enhance lesson delivery and engage students in literature and language.
  • Provide social and emotional support to students, addressing any concerns to promote a positive learning experience.



English Graduate Teaching Assistant – Essential Requirements:

  • A degree in English or a related field – Minimum 2:1 degree from a recognised UK University.
  • Previous experience working with children or young people is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively support students and work collaboratively with staff.
