Resistance Welder

About the Role: Nelson Permanent Placements are currently recruiting for a Resistance Welder to work with our client who are a Manufacturing organisation based in the Sandwell area.We are looking for skilled Resistance Welding Technicians to join the team at a global manufacturing leader. In this role, you’ll set up, operate, and maintain resistance welding machinery to produce high-quality welds across a range of materials. A strong technical skillset and attention to detail are essential, along with a dedication to safety and quality.Shift Pattern: 2-week rotating shift patternShift 1: Monday - Thursday 6am - 2pm; Friday 6am - 1pmShift 2: Monday - Thursday 2pm - 10pm; Friday 1pm - 8pmPay Rate: £11.44 - £12.50 per hour, depending on experience, plus a 22% shift allowance for night shiftsWeekly Hours: 39 hoursResponsibilities:

• Prepare, adjust, and operate resistance welding equipment according to specifications.
• Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting to maintain equipment at peak performance.
• Review and interpret blueprints, specifications, and work orders to determine welding requirements.
• Inspect welded joints using visual and mechanical methods to ensure adherence to quality standards.
• Monitor and make adjustments to the welding process as needed to maintain consistent quality.
• Work closely with engineers and production staff to improve welding efficiency and quality.
• Maintain records of machine settings, maintenance, and production outputs.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols to uphold a safe work environment.

• Hands-on experience in resistance welding within a manufacturing setting.
• Strong mechanical skills and proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing welding equipment.
• Familiarity with welding standards and inspection techniques.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and keen attention to detail.
• Capable of working independently and within a team.
