Principal Geotechnical Consultant | Remote | Permanent | up to £60,000


Are you an experienced Geotechnical Engineer/Consultant?


Do you have a background working on infrastructure and construction projects?


PT Renewables has just partnered with a unique boutique business looking for a Principal Geotechnical Consultant to be the right-hand person to the Technical Director.


This suits someone looking to join a small, agile and growing business working across many projects and seeing their work have a direct impact on the growth of the business.


The Role


As a Principal Geotechnical Consultant, you'll be leading on property, infrastructure and construction projects across the UK.


They'll be medium-to-large sized projects, where you'll work with a small team, providing leadership, strategic direction and innovative solutions to deliver on the project.


Key responsibilities

  • Provide expert consultation and oversight on geotechnical and geoenvironmental projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
  • Lead geotechnical investigations, site assessments, and testing for foundations, slope stability, retaining walls, and ground improvement.
  • Develop and review geotechnical reports, recommendations, and design specs.
  • Manage multiple geotechnical projects from start to finish, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • Prepare project proposals, estimates, and schedules.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying new opportunities for business growth.
  • Mentor junior staff, lead training sessions etc.


About you


  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Civil Engineering, or a related Geoscience field.
  • Ideally, minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering with a focus on property redevelopment projects.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing large scale geotechnical projects.
