Eleo Talent is proud to partner with a highly regarded healthcare provider to recruit a Staff Grade Doctor for their mental health facility. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated medical professional to deliver high-quality clinical care within a multi-disciplinary team, supporting patients with complex needs on their recovery journey.


Main Purpose

The Staff Grade Doctor will work closely with a Consultant Psychiatrist, General Practitioner, and a multi-disciplinary team to provide person-centered care. The role focuses on implementing recovery-oriented treatment plans and ensuring the best outcomes for patients.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychiatric assessments under the supervision of the Consultant Psychiatrist to determine the appropriate care level.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation for meetings such as Care Programme Approach (CPA) reviews.
  • Support the delivery of physical health care and emergency treatment alongside the GP for patients with complex needs.
  • Arrange and review clinical tests, ensuring timely action on results.
  • Participate in Clinical Governance activities and maintain Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • Contribute to policy development, audits, and service improvement initiatives.
  • Share responsibilities for tasks such as blood work and physical health observations.
  • Work collaboratively with the hospital leadership to promote the service's reputation and attract stakeholders.


Knowledge & Skills

The ideal candidate will possess:


  • An MBBS qualification (or equivalent) and full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) .
  • Foundation training and competencies, with demonstrated experience in psychiatry.
  • Knowledge or experience in secure or step-down settings, preferably working within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • The ability to work independently and make significant professional judgments.
  • Highly developed communication skills to manage sensitive situations, including court hearings or mental health tribunals.
