Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist

A rare and attractive opportunity has arisen in Westminster CAMHS, for 8PAs substantive Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to work in Westminster CAMH Service, specialising in neurodevelopmental disorders. There may be fixed term opportunities to increase to 10PAs.

This post attracts a Golden Hello of 20K payable in two instalments (subject to eligibility, taxable and non pensionable), Relocation package for up to 8K (subject to eligibility) , a generous annual leave entitlement, study leave, the NHS pension for a scheme and other financial benefits such as range of staff discounts including discount on the purchase and the lease of new cars.
The primary role of the post will be to provide leadership to the Westminster neurodevelopmental/ learning disability pathway and direct clinical input to young people and families, especially those whose mental health needs are particularly complex and to support the other members of the MDT in relation to clinical management of complex cases.
To provide clinical input to the ND/LD including conducting initial assessments, psychiatric assessments, risk assessments and treatment including initiation and monitoring of pharmacological treatments.
# Supporting the ND Team MDT with regard to comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and management planning, guided by the CAMHS care pathways and clinical model.
# Providing psychiatric consultation to the ND Team MDT and the wider CAMHS team when indicated.
# Primary medical degree
# An additional post graduate qualification of relevance to working with children and Adolescents
# Inclusion on the Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (or CCT expected within 6 months of interview date)
# Completed training for Clinical Supervisor role, or willingness to attend training

Knowledge of Clinical Governance/Care Quality
# Able to participate in Medical Audit and Quality Improvement
# Experience of teaching and supervision of junior staff and other disciplines
# Experience and training in the assessment and management of cases with complex presentations with high risk, emotional disorders and neurodevelopmental disorders
