Global Sales Lead

As the Global Sales Lead, you will drive the growth of fuel marker technology in both conventional fuel and biofuel supply chains globally.
The role will focus on new client acquisition, through delivery of attractive techno-commercial proposals that meet specific customer needs to drive growth and profitability for the business in an ethical and safe manner. Over time, building and maintaining effective relationships with customers and stakeholders globally (both internal and external).
About the role:
- Working with key stakeholders and local agents, research and analyze market opportunities and gain a clear understanding of the value drivers of the business to identify profitable commercial opportunities.
- Develop, deliver and where appropriate amend commercial plans to generate opportunities and revenue. Use insight gathered from customers to help to define the commercial plan content.
- Actively look for new business opportunities to deliver excellent performance to increase revenue, margin and maximize customer retention.
- Review and assess the potential to develop strategic partnerships to retain/win business.
- Implement strategic growth opportunities.
- Understand customer needs and, with assistance of other team members, prepare solutions that assists with customer tendering specification descriptions.
- Prepare, deliver and review sales presentations, contracts and proposals. Negotiate regional contracts/tenders.
- Meet personal sales targets/KPIs as established within defined markets, territories or accounts.
- Provide strategic sales and market information and analysis to the business.
- Provide direction, support and relationship management of agents.
- Drive customer service excellence and continuously review sales/account processes and new opportunities.
- Ensure key customers are regularly updated on product and market developments to help ensure customer service excellence.
- Work closely with operations, sales support and supply chain to ensure effective delivery of products / services and the quick resolution of any issues that arise.
- Develop and implement effective communication/feedback links with management and R&D in relation to customer feedback. Support R&D colleagues in understanding commercial drivers in line with market changes.
- Leads a customer portfolio that is dynamic, and/or has a very large geographic spread.
- Will resolve complex problems highly independently.
- Works in large markets/large accounts regionally or on a global basis.
- Ensure the highest standard of EHS and Ethics behaviors, with all relevant processes and standards followed during work activities.
Skills, Knowledge, Experience:
The ideal candidate:
- Understanding of fuel marker / fuel quality technologies.
- Previous experience in fuel quality supply / distribution related industry.
- Substantial experience in direct selling.
- Leads a customer portfolio that is dynamic, and/or has a very large geographic spread.
- Will resolve complex problems highly independently.
- Works in large markets/large accounts regionally or on a global basis.
- A strong team player with a high level of energy and influencing skills to persuade others while remaining open minded to the ideas of others.
- Degree, most likely in a scientific/technical/ business discipline.
- Evidence of demonstrating account/customer service delivery excellence.
- Strong drive for results.
