We are seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead the development of the Transparent AI Lens Device (TALD), a revolutionary handheld device integrating advanced AI processing, augmented reality, and transparent display technology. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to align technological innovations with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Vision

  • Develop and implement the company’s technology strategy, aligning it with business objectives and long-term goals.
  • Formulate the technical vision and roadmap for the TALD project, including product development, operational processes, and user experience.

Technical Leadership

  • Oversee the development and launch of new products and services, ensuring they meet both short-term and long-term technological and business goals.
  • Manage the technology team, including senior engineering managers, and ensure the team's performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other C-suite executives, such as the CEO and CFO, to align technological initiatives with overall business strategies.

AI and Software Development

  • Design and implement AI processing architectures optimized for transformer operations and integrate the Universal Neural Interface Architecture (UNIA) to support various AI accelerators(Job Description: Senior AI Engineer).
  • Develop and maintain the custom AR-optimized Linux kernel with real-time scheduling and neural process management(Job Description: Software Engineer - AR/VR Runtime Environment).
  • Optimize AI models for real-time inference and performance on the TALD platform(Job Description: Senior AI Engineer).

Hardware and Display Technology

  • Design and develop the transparent display system using graphene-enhanced polymer substrates and AMOLED display elements(Job Description: Hardware Engineer - TALD Project).
  • Integrate the sensor array, including dual 8K camera sensors, LiDAR scanner, IMU, GPS/GNSS receiver, and 5G/WiFi 6E radio(Job Description: Hardware Engineer - TALD Project).
  • Develop and implement the power management system, including graphene-enhanced lithium batteries and wireless charging capabilities(Job Description: Hardware Engineer - TALD Project).

Optical and Display Optimization

  • Optimize the optical stack, including anti-reflective coating, polarization layers, and color filter arrays(Job Description: Optical Engineer - Display Technology).
  • Ensure the display system integrates seamlessly with the sensor array and power management system(Job Description: Optical Engineer - Display Technology).

Manufacturing and Quality Control

  • Oversee the assembly and manufacturing process of the TALD, ensuring high-quality and reliable connections through precision chip mounting and assembly processes(Job Description: Manufacturing Engineer - TALD Assembly).
  • Conduct comprehensive validation including thermal cycling, power stress testing, and signal integrity verification(Job Description: Manufacturing Engineer - TALD Assembly).

Customer and Market Focus

  • Act as a liaison between the business and consumers, understanding customer requirements and helping build and deliver products that meet those needs.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest technology trends and market demands to ensure the TALD remains competitive and innovative.

Budgeting and Resource Management

  • Manage the company’s technology budget and ensure that technological resources meet business benchmarks.
  • Supervise processes to ensure DevOps best practices and cybersecurity, including maintaining security compliance regulations.

Required Skills

  • Advanced Degree: In Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Technical Background: Strong technical background in AI engineering, software development, hardware design, and optics. Alternatively you are a successful dropout (Thiel Fellow or otherwise)
  • Leadership Skills: Excellent leadership and management skills to oversee multiple teams and projects.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to effectively interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and align technological innovations with business goals.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Experience with AI frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and transformer models.
  • Knowledge of real-time systems, embedded software development, and hardware-accelerated tensor operations.
  • Familiarity with graphene-enhanced materials, power management, and thermal optimization techniques.
  • Experience with AR/VR development, mixed reality applications, and chip-agnostic processing architectures(Job Descriptions).
