Company DescriptionUnited Living Group is comprised of four complementary pillars, all dedicated to realising our vision of creating a connected, sustainable future:United Living Property ServicesUnited Living Infrastructure ServicesUnited Living New HomesUnited Living ConnectedThis vacancy is within our United Living Property Services pillar where we revitalise homes and communities through the regeneration of living spaces, breathing new life into neighbourhoods.Our mission is to be the partner and employer of choice for designing, building, maintaining, and connecting communities and critical infrastructure to create a more sustainable and inclusive society.Job DescriptionJob TitleAssistant Quantity SurveyorReporting To Job TitleSenior or Quantity SurveyorPurposeDuring the years of training, the Assistant Quantity Surveyor will assist the Quantity Surveyors with the fiscal and contractual administration of projects carried out.Specific ResponsibilitiesLearn and understand the United Way of working, ensuring that the processes are complied with and adopted into your daily disciplines.Act in a professional manner in everything you do such that the Company’s reputation is enhancedUnder close and constant supervision of their line manager:ProcurementPrepare and issue subcontract enquiries or trade packages including taking off quantities from drawingsAssist in the analysis, assessment and comparison of subcontractors' quotationsAssist in drafting of subcontract ordersMain ContractAssist in the evaluation of C.V.I's and contract Instructions.Assist in preparation of monthly valuationEvaluate materials on siteSubcontractSite Measurement of different tradesAssist in the evaluation of monthly payment applicationsPayment to Subcontractors on the finance systemAssist in preparation of details for subcontractor Final Accounts.FinancialCompetent use of company cost systemPrepare supporting information for the monthly CVR.AdminFile and distribute documents and drawings.Working closely with members of the site team to ensure that all instructions areEnsure that you do not commit the business to binding agreements with either clients or sub-contractors without the express permission / authority of your line managerUnder supervision support in the collation of relevant documentation relating to insurance claims.Maintain and continuously improve commercial /legal/contractual awareness.Learn and understand the Contracts ProcessIn addition to the above tasks the Trainee Quantity Surveyor may be required to undertake such other duties normally deemed to be part of the Surveying function as instructed by your line managerWorking in one or more locations as requiredQualificationsPrevious experience within the construction industry would be desirable3 A-levels at minimum BCC grade5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at 9-4 (grade C or above) including Maths, English and ideally a ScienceAny previous Level 4 related qualification or equivalent disciplineI.T literate particularly Excel and keen to extend knowledge on software packages and Microsoft Office.Numerate to high standard, able to analyse data and produce costs and information for final accounts.Able to produce work accurately and to tight deadlinesBasic understanding of standard methods of measurementBasic knowledge of Housing SectorTake responsibility for own developmentEnthusiastic, committed and flexibleAdditional InformationIf you are seeking a dynamic and diverse work environment, we're offering:Competitive salary and benefits packageOpportunities for career progression aligned with the company’s growthImmediate interview for qualified candidatesHow to Apply:If you are ready to be part of our expanding team and contribute to our success, apply today for immediate consideration.
