Hours of Work: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Term Time
Job Type: Full Time, Long Term
About the school:
Our school is a vibrant community located in Ealing, London, and serves pupils from across the borough and neighbouring areas. We are proud of our cultural diversity, with pupils and staff from various ethnic and cultural backgrounds, creating a rich and inclusive environment. Our close-knit team works together to offer a tailored educational experience to each pupil, ensuring that children on the Autism Spectrum are given the individual attention and support they need to thrive.
We are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant who is experienced in working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Our school is a diverse, welcoming environment with a strong emphasis on collaboration between staff, parents, and professionals. We strive to provide all our pupils with the skills and abilities they need for their next educational steps and future lives. As an SEN Teaching Assistant – ASD Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting students with Autism in both individual and small group settings.
Your work will focus on ensuring these pupils receive personalised learning support while fostering their social and emotional development. This is a full-time, long-term position starting ASAP, and offers a rewarding opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals, including SEN specialists and teachers who share your passion for inclusive education.
Experience working with children with ASD in a school or SEN environment.
• A calm, patient, and compassionate approach to supporting children with challenging behaviours.
• Relevant qualifications, such as a CACHE Level 3 or equivalent, are desirable but not essential.
• A dedication to making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs.
Provide one-on-one and small group support to pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder across KS1 and KS2.
• Work collaboratively with class teachers and SEN specialists to tailor learning activities for individual needs.
• Use visual aids and structured teaching techniques to help students engage in their learning and daily activities.
• Build strong relationships with parents and caregivers, offering regular updates on pupil progress.
At our school, you’ll be part of a supportive, inclusive, and forward-thinking team where your contributions are truly valued. We offer a collaborative working environment with ongoing CPD opportunities to enhance your skills in SEN teaching, along with regular career progression opportunities within the school.
Our diverse and vibrant community celebrates different cultures and encourages professional development, providing well-resourced classrooms and support from experienced staff to help you succeed in your role. Additionally, you’ll have access to well-being programs and other benefits that promote a healthy work-life balance. Join us and be part of a school that values every student and staff member, allowing you to make a genuine impact in the lives of young learners with Autism.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. However, we will keep your CV and continue to help you in your search for a job within education. Teach Now is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post will be subject to an Enhanced DBS Clearance.
