Business Overview

The Client Onboarding Associate role is at the forefront of the operational client experience at IFM and is responsible for managing the end to end operational client on-boarding process. By proactively managing IFM processes and providing client centric service the role ensures the timely on-boarding of new clients and a positive client experience.

The Role

The Client Onboarding Associate role is at the forefront of the operational client experience at IFM and is responsible for managing the end to end operational client on-boarding process. By proactively managing IFM processes and providing client centric service the role ensures the timely on-boarding of new clients and a positive client experience.


The Client Onboarding Associate Role Is Responsible For

  • Liaise with and respond to client queries in relation to onboarding process and progress
  • Track and manage end to end client onboarding process
  • Lead and manage Client restructures and major change events
  • Validate client FATCA and CRS forms
  • Complete preliminary review of investor legal documents
  • Perform AML/KYC Risk assessment and provide AML/KYC oversight
  • Cross reference AML/KYC data against all investor documents
  • Perform static data maintenance in CRM
  • Support the Manager – Client Service in the management of the Client Onboarding workflow and prioritization of key activities.
  • Support Client data remediation activities related to onboarding
  • Support compliance filings
  • Support internal and external Audits
  • Support other areas of the business on a needs basis
  • Monitor the quality of outgoing communications by the team to both IFM internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment to our values and client standards

Provide support to process improvement initiatives that contribute to the efficiency, timeliness of key operational processes. The role will provide support to wider Investment Operations and Client Service department as directed by the Director, Client Service.


Your Background And Experience

  • 5+ years’ relevant and related experience in Client On-boarding, Tax services or AML/KYC compliance roles within the Funds Management, Fund administration or Custody within the financial services industry for institutional clients
  • 3+ years’ relevant and related experience in Client Service roles within the Funds Management, Fund administration or Custody within the financial services industry, servicing the operational and/or on-boarding needs of institutional clients
  • Tertiary qualification in Business/Management/Financial Services or other relevant areas.
  • Previous institutional FATCA and CRS validation experience essential.
  • Previous experience with AML/KYC processes essential
  • Proven ability to champion the criticality of quality client outcomes to important internal stakeholders.
  • Proven Project Management discipline highly advantageous
  • Strong Account Opening Process knowledge
  • Strong FATCA and CRS reporting knowledge
  • Strong Financial knowledge
  • Understanding of current global regulatory environment and requirements
  • Strong working knowledge of MS suite including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & CRM systems
  • Broad understanding of the financial services industry, operation of superannuation/pension funds, in particular client service and tax service functions
  • Business acumen, financial metrics and key performance drivers.
