Project Description:

We are seeking an experienced ML Architect/ Machine Learning Lead to join an R&D team working on cutting-edge projects at Grid Dynamics, where the team focuses on developing machine learning and data science solutions that power internal tools and track key metrics in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor an R&D team of 10 data scientists and machine learning engineers.
  • Define and build the architecture for complex data science and machine learning solutions.
  • Take ownership of end-to-end project delivery: from ideation, research, and algorithm development, to implementation and deployment.
  • Conduct in-depth research and experimentation to improve the performance and capabilities of predictive models.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define project goals, and drive alignment across departments.
  • Design and implement scalable solutions in machine learning and data science, leveraging AWS and other technologies as appropriate.

Tech Stack:

  • Machine Learning (ML) and Data Science (DS)
  • Cloud infrastructure: AWS
  • Additional technologies and tools to be determined based on the project’s needs.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 8-9+ years in Data Science and Machine Learning, with a proven track record of leading teams and delivering impactful solutions.
  • Leadership: Significant experience leading teams, mentoring junior staff, and taking ownership of project architecture and strategy.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with machine learning algorithms, data science techniques, and data modeling.
  • Program Management: Ability to initiate and drive complex projects from the ground up, including conducting deep research, gathering requirements, and developing solutions.
  • Research & Development: A strong background in both research and practical implementation. The ideal candidate is a combination of a top-tier data scientist and machine learning engineer, able to balance the theoretical with the practical.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with large-scale, cloud-based machine learning solutions (e.g., AWS, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Familiarity with content compliance, risk management, or similar industries would be a plus.
