  • Utilize advanced modelling tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, Dymola, and JuliaHub to create, simulate, and optimize high-fidelity physical models.
  • Lead the implementation of co-simulation strategies, integrating multiple simulation tools to conduct holistic system-level analyses.
  • Automate and optimize simulation workflows to accelerate model development and integration with parametric CAD models and streamline the design process.
  • Leverage both on-premise high-performance computing (HPC) and cloud computing resources to enhance simulation efficiency, ensuring accurate results within reduced timeframes.
  • Lead technical projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outcomes, while also mentoring and guiding junior engineers in the team.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate simulation results into broader engineering workflows, contributing to system design optimization and innovation.
  • Maintain a high standard of engineering best practices, continuously seeking improvements and fostering their adoption within the team.

Preferred Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with an emphasis on multi-physics simulation and systems engineering; PhD preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in multi-physics systems engineering, including hands-on expertise in:
  • Advanced modelling tools such as JuliaHub, MATLAB, Simulink, Dymola, and similar platforms for complex system simulations.
  • Co-simulation frameworks, integrating various simulation tools and methods to solve multi-domain problems.
  • Building models from scratch, including geometry preparation, parameterization, and post-processing.
  • Systems engineering principles that span mechanical, thermal, electrical, and fluid domains.
  • Automation of simulation workflows, integrating parametric CAD with co-simulation frameworks for faster and more efficient optimizations.
  • Proficiency in Python and/or Java is highly desirable, especially for scripting and workflow automation.
  • Experience in data science and machine learning approaches and modelling with integration to Scientific Machine Learning.
  • Expertise in model validation and correlating simulation data with real-world experimental results.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, analySe root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a proven ability to work with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Passion for mentoring and coaching junior engineers, helping to build a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Desirable Knowledge & Experience:

  • Experience with Scientific Machine Learning (SciML) frameworks, such as DiffEqFlux.jl or similar, for integrating machine learning into scientific and engineering models.
  • Proven expertise in high-performance computing environments for running large-scale simulations and optimizing computational efficiency.
  • Hands-on experience in multi-domain optimization techniques, particularly for real-time decision-making in high-performance applications such as motorsports, aerospace, or automotive industries.
