We now have exciting permanent opportunities for motivated and suitably qualified Technical Coordinator to join our Technical Communities based in the South West of England. The Role
The Technical Coordinator role will be to define all processes, procedures, tools standards that would be necessary to manage the configuration associated to the supply chain and efficiently develop the procurement specifications aligned with the configuration of the systems being managed.
Key Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities
Additional responsibilities are to secure replication strategy of the supply chain at all levels (tier 1 / 2 / 3) and put in place the required processes to ensure that the procurement sequence is managed through an appropriate configuration. The Technical Coordinator will define how to interface HPC and SZC and define processes and day to day management for this interface. On top of this activity, there is a need to manage the main input evolution for the supply chain as the codes and standards and define a strategy to be in position to measure and monitor the replication of the list of equipment from HPC to SZC at a low level.
The post holder will:
- Act as the technical point of contact for the NI/ CI-BOP/ CW programmes with regards to all configuration management topics within their scope interfaced with the management of supply chain.
- Ensure that the main partner’s configuration strategy follow HPC/ SZC guidance.
- Support the programme to put in place the Project Change Request process and manage interface between PCR processes and configuration management.
- Coordinate codes and standards replication strategy and manage impact on procurement specifications.
- Develop processes to manage link between HPC configuration and SZC procurement sequences.
- Develop a strategy to manage replication of equipment list from HPC to SZC.
Person Specification
The Technical Coordinator must have, or be working towards the following:
- Degree in Engineering, or another related field. A background in any of the following would be desirable: Nuclear Safety, Layout Design, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems or Civil Engineering
In the absence of these qualifications sufficient relevant experience can be appropriate to determine suitability.
You will have or be looking to develop:
- Experience of Configuration Management in the delivery of major infrastructure projects
- Experience of Project Management in the delivery of major infrastructure projects
- Experience of projects in high hazard industries including Nuclear, Energy, Rail, Oil & Gas and Aviation
- Experience in major (£50m+) projects
- Understanding various contract types e.g., the NEC suite and FIDIC and commercial aspects of major project delivery
