Software Development Team Leader, Trading and Tools

Who we are looking for
A Software Development Team Leader, who will help coordinate, motivate, and drive the work of a team of Software Developers in order to deliver software solutions.
The trading and tools team are vital to the success of the Business and are responsible for creating, enhancing, and supporting the tools that our Trading department use each day to create and configure sporting events.
Measuring quality and delivery you will contribute to and drive improvements alongside retaining a solid technical understanding of systems and remaining close to the solutions being developed. Your focus will be people, processes, delivery, and governance. The technology workstack covers C#, Golang and SQL.
The day-to-day work is interesting and challenging amidst a delivery focused Company ethos. We hire people with a broad set of technical skills who are ready to tackle some of technology’s greatest challenges.
This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company’s hybrid working from home policy.
Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- Commercial C#, MS SQL Server experience.
- Solid understanding of Windows applications and Microservices architecture.
- Experience with Jira issue management and Git version control.
- Adaptability with the ability to lead a team to ensure the best outcome for the Business.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple streams of activity whilst shifting focus regularly.
- Previous experience working towards a defined solution and ownership of delivery.
- Proven track record of leading teams to deliver high quality solutions.
- Passionate about working with technology and software development processes and practices.
Main Responsibilities
- Assisting in driving the provision of a capable, reactive, motivated and delivery focused team.
- Enforcing governance of quality, rules, standards, and processes to ensure solutions meet Business requirements.
- Ensuring the development process is conducted in a timely fashion.
- Planning and tracking work actively, as prioritised by the product, project, and development management.
- Gaining a good understanding of the technical structure, domain, and architecture of the systems that the team are responsible for.
- Identifying and mitigating risk, whilst removing blockers to delivery.
- Working through dependencies.
- Mentoring members of the team and ensuring distribution of knowledge.
- Inputting developer appraisals and other performance feedback.
