Multi-site Manufacturing Group

Southampton

£90-£110k + Generous Bonus + Great Benefits


Our partners are a growing manufacturing group in the South West that are seeking a commercially focused Finance Director to oversee the financial leadership and future growth of their established businesses.


The Role

The Finance Director will join the Executive Leadership Team, working closely with the CEO and site leadership teams. They will play a key role in steering the group’s financial strategy while managing day-to-day operations and ensuring robust financial controls.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Group’s financial strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and supporting sustainable growth.
  • Deliver accurate, insightful financial reporting, including management accounts, board packs, and consolidated results.
  • Manage and develop a finance team across multiple sites, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
  • Oversee cashflow, working capital, and financial risk, ensuring the group remains financially secure and compliant.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders such as banks, auditors, and insurers.
  • Partner with leadership to support investment decisions, profitability analysis, and strategic initiatives.
  • Play a central role in mergers and acquisitions, from due diligence to integration.
  • Continuously improve financial systems, policies, and procedures to drive operational excellence.


The Candidate:

This role is suited to a qualified finance professional with a strong commercial mindset and experience in the manufacturing sector. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and be capable of balancing strategic leadership with detailed financial oversight.

This opportunity would suit an ambitious Financial Controller or an established Finance Director who is looking for a secure and stimulating working environment.


Key Candidate Requirements:

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified with substantial post-qualification experience.
  • Proven leadership experience in a finance role, ideally as a Finance Director or Senior Controller.
  • Manufacturing sector expertise, including familiarity with costing models and pricing strategies.
  • A track record of success in high-growth environments, including M&A activity.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Hands-on and proactive, with the flexibility to manage multiple priorities across diverse business units.
  • Comfortable working in a multi-site SME environment, with the willingness to travel as required.
