Social Care Support Worker No experience

Regardless of if you are new to this work or experienced, we are looking for caring, enthusiastic and resilient people who enjoy helping others and seeing the difference their support can make to enable individuals to lead independent and fulfilling lives. Based in the heart of Hemel Hempstead, near shops and local amenities you will work alongside a small dedicated and supportive team providing support for people with mental health concerns. Each tenant has their own self-contained purpose built flat and we provide 24-hour outreach via access to emergency phone support. In addition, you will provide support to service users living in satellite properties within the community. (please note you will not be required to provide personal care).
As an Assistant Support Worker, you will;
Provide appropriate support to service users who are living in their own homes or in a supported housing setting to encourage their aspirations and maximise their independence.
Your role will involve promoting life skills such as shopping, managing budgets and supporting with domestic tasks such as cooking and cleaning.
Build long lasting support relationships with people who will benefit from you "being the difference".
Follow agreed support plans and risk assessments to ensure that we are providing a service that meets each individual`s needs.
As a Support Worker, you will;
Produce clear and detailed support plans with the guidance of your management team.
Provide appropriate support to service users who are living in their own homes or in a supported housing setting to enable them to develop and maximise their independence.
Identify current ability levels so as not to de-skill people, and then work on improving other life skills such as shopping, managing budgets and domestic tasks such as cooking and cleaning.
Enable the people we support to source education, voluntary or paid employment and join social activities in the community.
Work alongside the individuals to maintain their tenancies and prepare them to move on in the community by bidding for properties when the time is right.
Provide emotional support during challenging periods, showing empathy and understanding during times of crisis. Assistant Support roles; You do not need experience as we provide a structured induction, comprehensive training and on the job support to enable you to excel within your role and you will have the opportunity to gain an accredited vocational qualification as well as gain experience and exposure to the wider care support Hightown offers.
Support Worker roles; You will need to have previously worked in a supported housing environment or health and social care field and have experience of delivering person centered care to be considered for our Support worker roles.
Regardless of role, we are looking for passionate people who care about others and have a can-do, common-sense attitude to their life and who are driven by the desire to make a difference to real lives.
You will have the ability to recognize the wishes and needs of vulnerable adults and communicate effectively using different methods according to people's needs.
It is important that you understand that the role involves working with adults that may have experienced past trauma. You will be lone working on occasions and will have the responsibility of monitoring and reporting on an individual’s wellbeing.
To do this successfully you will need to present as a trusting and reliable person who is genuinely interested in the person you are supporting.
Work shifts as part of a rota system which will include weekend and bank holiday working (this role is full time 37.It is essential that you hold a full valid UK drivers licence have access to a car for work purposes during shift, mileage paid for business use.
It is essential you can commit to performing at least one sleep in per week as part of your shift (allowance paid)
