Due to growth and internal promotion, we are recruiting for a Finance Assistant to join a leading plastics manufacturer based near Liverpool. This Finance Assistant role is a permanent position working Monday to Friday 9am-5pm offering a salary of circa £26,000 per annum, dependent on experience plus excellent benefits as below.As Finance Assistant, you will report directly into the Finance Officer and work within an office of 12 people (including the MD, Production Staff, Office Manager and Sales). You will support the Finance Officer in day to day tasks including purchase ledger and credit control. Your main duties will be as follows:Purchase LedgerFiling & matching delivery notes and purchase ordersSending copies of PODs to customers who require copies before making paymentScanning supplier PODs, saving them in the accounting system, and filing themStatement reconciliationInvoice matchingPayment entry, and matching within the accounting systemEntry and reconciliation of invoices into purchase ledger systemDealing with supplier queries, payment requests via email and telephoneChasing supplier invoices by telephone, email, and letterMonitor debtor balances and ensure timely paymentsRaising customer invoicesMonitoring customer debt, and following up on unpaid invoicesDealing with customer invoicing queriesWe are really keen to hear from applicants with the following skills and experience:Previous experience within finance (Finance Administrator, Finance Assistant, Finance Support, Accounts Assistant etc)Basic understanding of invoicing, purchase ledger, and general finance duties, however full training will be providedGood level of Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, VLookups etc)Ideally, proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar accounting software – however this can be trainedSelf motivated and the ability to pick up new tasks quicklyBenefits Include: Company Social EventsEmployee Assistance ProgrammeDeath in Service BenefitSick Pay schemePension Scheme20 Days Annual Leave plus 8 Bank HolidaysOnsite Free ParkingTraining & Personal Development OpportunitiesPlease apply today or call us to discuss this Finance Assistant role in more detailMeridian Business Support is a recruitment specialist acting on behalf of our client as an Employment Agency for this vacancy
