We are recruiting for a supplier of machinery for the plastic market.


The role is remote based, covering East Anglia.


On offer is circa £45,000 + overtime, company van, 25 days holiday.


There is no mandatory weekend work or being on call.



Job Overview

As a field service engineer, you will be responsible for servicing and installation of equipment and projects, supporting various products and automation equipment in house and at customer sites, and working closely with the service manager, technical automation and design team, technical manager, technical sales engineers, and lead engineers to deliver the best possible products and support.



Preferred Experience:

  • Detailed understanding of electrical controls, inc., good understanding of PLC/Automation
  • Working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Excellent mechanical, electrical, and fault-finding repair skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; English fluency is essential.
  • Customer-focused, be astute and able to work within a busy department, and be motivated to deliver on the company’s high standards.
  • Ability to multi-task and provide the best possible products to internal and external customers
  • Understand how to troubleshoot problems efficiently; ability to understand and manage engineers and customers’ expectations when giving technical support
  • Electrical/Mechanical Engineering time-served apprenticeship or equivalent experience




Duties will also include:

  • Monitor and prioritise tasks, maintaining records on Microsoft Dynamics NAV and CRM.
  • Reporting—Weekly and Daily—on all work carried out.
  • Encourage team interaction, creating an increased appreciation of the work undertaken benefiting the working environment and business.
  • Assist sales and technical teams when requested.
  • Install and service equipment, commission, and train customers to high standards.
  • Write detailed reports to communicate site or supplier issues and potential improvements.
  • Support the service department if requested with breakdown situations. – Diagnose faults and rectify
