Multi- site Engineering manager required for this food manufacturing business based in the midlands.Overseeing both the Coalville and Redditch sites you will be responsible for looking after a team of 4 engineers.Reporting to the Heads of Site Operations, this position offers the chance to lead a dedicated team, focusing on maintenance, compliance, and continuous improvement.The Role as an engineering manager: Adhere to all health, safety, hygiene, and food safety policies.Follow BRC and external standards; comply with CCPs in the site HACCP plan.Actively contribute as a senior leadership team member, guiding the business towards future success.Oversee health, safety, and environmental protocols for your team, contractors, and controlled work areas.Prioritise day-to-day machinery and equipment maintenance to keep production running smoothly.Maintain the site’s infrastructure, including buildings and clear areas.Lead capital projects from design through to commissioning, enhancing plant and equipment effectiveness.Monitor engineering costs for machinery, rentals, and labour to stay within budget and ensure value without compromising quality.Oversee utilities usage (water, gas, electricity, steam, effluent) to maximise cost-effectiveness while maintaining production.Ensure full compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.Supervise, train, and develop engineering staff to support their growth and the company’s future needs.Develop and manage an engineering and maintenance strategy aligned with company goals.Work with production and hygiene teams to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption.Contractor Oversight, Approve and oversee contractor work.Support Operations, Assist the Head of Operations with related duties as needed. Skills and Experience Required in this Engineering Managers role:Solid experience of working in an FMCG food environment (ideally within high care).Solid and demonstrable engineering management experience of sizeable teams.HNC/HND QualifiedDemonstrable experience of developing positive and innovative team environments.Strong ability to proactively plan and prioritise.Willingness to challenge the status quo to achieve a culture dedicated to continuous improvement and best practice.
