About the role:

Due to continued growth within our team, we are looking for a Fire Engineer to join our Edinburgh office. This is progressive role in a medium size but rapidly growing company, and it is likely to develop following discussion and agreement. Your role will encompass all aspects of fire safety engineering. This will range from undertaking research on new products and systems, working with design teams, preparing fire strategies, undertaking site inspections and computational modelling through to supporting the implementation of effective fire safety management and protection measures in existing buildings. Once you have developed a sound knowledge of the industry, we offer opportunities to specialise in different areas of fire engineering to suit your interests.


As a part of Ashton Fire, you will have the opportunity to liaise with a wider team of highly skilled fire consultants with specialisms that incorporate a diverse range of fields. You will be supported in learning fire safety engineering techniques and practices by our highly competent fire engineering team.


Skills you will bring:

  • BSc, BEng or higher in fire engineering (or a relevant engineering discipline).
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong numerical skills.
  • Excellent communicator (verbal, written and electronical).
  • Good problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in the fire engineering field.
  • Associate member of the Institution of Fire Engineers (AIFireE).
  • Excel VBA (or similar) programming experience.
