Role Overview: As an Electrical Systems Engineer in our Cargo and Vehicle Inspection team, you’ll play a crucial role in the entire product lifecycle—from initial concept to continuous improvement. You’ll support the design, development, and maintenance of electrical drawings and PLC/HMI code for our advanced x-ray scanning equipment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate with a dynamic Electrical Engineering team.
  • Manage and update electrical drawings, Bills of Materials (BoMs), and PLC code.
  • Ensure revision control and lifecycle management of our systems.
  • Contribute to new product introductions and ongoing enhancements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret Specifications: Understand and interpret specifications and customer requirements from Sales, Project Managers, and Engineering Management.
  • Technical Documentation: Produce technical documentation to support designs.
  • Electrical Schematics & Layouts: Create electrical schematics and 3D panel layouts using Eplan P8 and Pro Panel.
  • BoM Data Export: Export Bills of Materials (BoM) data for electrical hardware.
  • PLC Code Creation: Develop PLC code using Studio5000 & CoDeSys in line with the system architecture.
  • HMI Screen Design: Design HMI screens to match the system’s requirements.
  • PLM System Management: Issue designs into the PLM system via the ECO process.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support through production and commissioning.
  • Quality & Safety Compliance: Work within the company quality and safety procedures.
  • Service Support: Provide service support and action ECRs allocated.
  • Site Visits: Visit sites as required.

Qualifications and experience:

Essential:

  • Electrical Control Systems Expertise: Strong knowledge of electrical control systems, including PLC controllers.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to respond to changing business needs.
  • Travel Willingness: Willingness to travel with good presentation skills.
  • Time Management: Great time management skills.
  • Team Player: Able to work as part of a team and individually.
  • Microsoft Office Proficiency: Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, OneNote, Outlook, Presentation, Teams & Word).

Desirable:

  • CAD Experience: Experience in using CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, Eplan, or Solidworks Electrical.
  • PLC Programming: Experience in PLC programming platforms such as Studio5000 or CoDeSys.
  • VFD/Servo Drives: Experience programming VFD/Servo Drives within Rockwell environments.
