Lead Hardware Engineer


A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Lead Hardware Engineer to join a forward-thinking technology company based in Malvern , specialising in defence technologies . The company is well-known for developing advanced hardware solutions that serve critical defense applications, helping to deliver high-performance and reliable systems for use in challenging and mission-critical environments.


As the Lead Hardware Engineer , you will be responsible for the end-to-end design and development of complex hardware systems involving RF , analog , and digital electronics . You will take the lead on project delivery, guiding the design process from initial concept to production, ensuring that hardware systems meet rigorous defense standards. The role will involve system-level design , PCB layout , hardware prototyping , and working closely with software and mechanical engineering teams to ensure smooth integration across the full system architecture.


The ideal Lead Hardware Engineer will have:

  • Extensive experience in RF , analog , and digital circuit design
  • Proven ability in system-level hardware design , including schematic capture and PCB layout
  • Expertise in hardware testing , debugging , and validation processes
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and mentor engineering teams
  • Previous experience in defence or a heavily regulated industry is highly desirable
