The Role:
Your focus will be on the design and modelling of power electronics systems. This role involves the design and development of advanced power electronic circuits and systems, utilising tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, and LTSpice for system modelling, analysis, and simulation.
So, what will you be doing as a Power Electronics Engineer?
- Develop power electronic circuits such as DC-DC converters, AC-DC rectifiers, inverters, and motor drives.
- Create high-efficiency, compact, and reliable power systems while meeting performance, safety, and cost goals.
- Use MATLAB, Simulink, and LTSpice to simulate and analyse system performance.
- Seamlessly integrate control algorithms with hardware to enhance system efficiency and stability.
- Collaborate with test engineers to validate performance, refine designs, and compare hardware results with simulation models.
- Analyse test data and make necessary adjustments to improve overall performance.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the successful integration of power electronics into larger systems, such as motor drives, pumps, or energy management systems.

What are we looking for in our next Power Electronics Engineer?
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field.
- Proven experience in designing and modelling power electronic systems, including inverters, converters, or motor drives.
- Expertise in system-level design, circuit analysis, and high-efficiency power converters.
- Proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, and LTSpice for modelling and simulation.
- Strong analytical skills in circuit analysis, power device selection, and understanding of semiconductor devices like MOSFETs and IGBTs.
- Knowledge of control algorithms for power electronics, including digital control techniques.
