Senior Data Engineer - London

An innovative tech start-up is looking for its first Senior Data Engineer to join a high-growth team. As the inaugural data engineering hire, you will have the opportunity to build out the data infrastructure from the ground up, developing scalable data solutions that will drive product innovation and business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure, with a focus on time-series data
  • Develop robust, production-grade code in Kotlin, enhancing system performance and reliability
  • Deploy machine learning models and integrate them into data pipelines, optimising for scalability and efficiency
  • Conduct statistical analysis and build predictive models to uncover insights and inform product decisions
  • Utilise PyTorch, TensorFlow, SQL, and AWS to create seamless, end-to-end data solutions
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align data engineering and data science solutions with business objectives and product strategy

Required Experience:

  • 5+ years in data engineering and data science, with strong experience in scalable data systems and predictive modelling
  • Advanced proficiency in Kotlin, with a track record of developing high-performance data solutions
  • Expertise in PyTorch, TensorFlow, SQL, and AWS for large-scale data processing and machine learning model deployment
  • Solid background in statistical analysis and time-series data handling

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with computer vision applications
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts and insights clearly and effectively
  • Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced, start-up environment
