Responsibilities:

* Develop customised training plans that cater to the unique learning needs of apprentices with specific learning difficulties, ensuring that each individual is given the tools and support they need to succeed.
* Deliver impactful technical training through a variety of methods, including hands-on exercises, workshops, lectures, and 1-on-1 coaching. You will also create tailored course materials that address each apprentice's areas for improvement.
* Assess and identify apprentice strengths and weaknesses, developing plans to enhance their skills and knowledge while providing ongoing support and constructive feedback to boost their confidence and independence.
* Stay current with IT industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure your instruction is always relevant and up to date.
* Track and evaluate apprentice progress by maintaining detailed records and notes to measure growth and identify areas requiring further development.
* Oversee domestic repair tasks and technical tickets, incorporating practical IT experience into the learning journey.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Strong knowledge of IT systems, including hardware, software, and networking. Experience with operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and common software applications (Office Suite, browsers, etc.).
* Familiarity with cloud computing, cybersecurity, and troubleshooting techniques. Experience with assistive technologies and adaptive tools used by individuals with learning difficulties.
Training and Development:
* Ability to design and deliver IT training programs, customised to various learning needs. Patience and adaptability in delivering content to apprentices with learning difficulties (such as dyslexia, ADHD, or autism).
* Competence in using differentiated instruction techniques to accommodate diverse learning styles.
* Mentorship skills to guide apprentices in their professional and personal development.
Communication:
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly. Active listening skills to understand the needs and challenges of apprentices. Capacity to provide constructive feedback and encourage growth.
* Interpersonal and Empathy Skills: Empathy and sensitivity towards apprentices with specific learning difficulties.
* Ability to build rapport and create a supportive, inclusive learning environment. Experience in collaborating with educational support staff, such as special education coordinators or occupational therapists.
* Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Ability to identify and solve technical issues quickly.
* Flexibility in adapting training materials and teaching approaches to meet the apprentices’ needs.
Qualifications:
* Any relevant IT-related certifications in systems management, cloud services, or cybersecurity would be an advantage.
* Specialised certification in assistive technology (optional but highly beneficial).
* Level 3 Award in Education and Training or similar certification (optional but highly beneficial).
* Experience or qualifications in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), such as Level 3 SEND certification or equivalent (optional but highly beneficial).
Benefits:
* Competitive salary
* Opportunities for professional development and career advancement
* Dynamic and collaborative work environment
* Exposure to a diverse range of technologies and industries
* Supportive team culture with a focus on continuous learning and improvement
If you are passionate about teaching, technology, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with learning difficulties, this position offers a unique and rewarding opportunity.
* Experience working in a similar role where IT support and training were provided.
* Experience working with apprentices or individuals with specific learning difficulties is highly desirable. Previous exposure to working in an inclusive educational environment, with an understanding of accessibility and inclusion principles.
