Class 1 Driver

Direct Response Employment Services are working with our long established client, who are seeking a Class 1 driver on days to join the their team on a temp to perm basis.

As a professional and skilled driver you will be required to demonstrate professionalism and courteous conduct to our customers. As a driver, you will develop close working relationships with your planning, training, and supervisory team, and driving colleagues in an organisation that strives to create a welcoming and comfortable environment.

Our customers have variable loading and delivery times that are governed by factory production schedules, meaning that drivers will need to be flexible, when required, with shift starting and finishing times. Shift lengths do vary but you are expected to comply with all Tachograph and Working Time Directive regulations at all times.

Successful applicants MUST have the following:

* Full LGV C+E) Class 1) licence.

* Driver CPC & Tacho Card.

* Powder tanker experience (preferred) but not essential.

Salary:

Basic Pay (10 Hours Per Day) £12.44 per hour

Overtime Rate (Over 10 Hours Per Day) £16.11 per hour

Bank Holiday Working Payment

Actual hours worked at £16.11 per hour plus one day’s holiday pay or a day in lieu.

Additional:

Meal Allowance (Tax Free) – £10.00 Per day for each day worked.

Once Permanent:

* Driver Retention Bonus: £6 per day (Paid in January) plus a weekly driving style bonus £25 per week once permanent.

* Overtime available on optional shift days.

* Company uniform and PPE provided.

* .Paid CPC training during employment (Terms applicable depending on expiry date of current DQC).

* Driver LGV medical fee allowance.

* Minimum guaranteed shift hours.

* Full training provided.

* Drivers are allocated their own regular unit.
