Edge Careers are working with a fast growing Shropshire based contractor to recruit a Quantity Surveyor.

We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor, managing 4-5 projects concurrently. The number of projects may vary depending on their size and complexity. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a pivotal role in a growing business, ensuring the financial and contractual success of a range of interior construction projects, with occasional support required in estimating.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Oversight:

* Manage the financial and contractual elements of 4-5 projects, ensuring efficient cost control and smooth delivery.

* Work closely with the Commercial Manager to achieve project objectives.

*

Quantity Surveying Duties:

* Place and administer sub-contract orders, ensuring all requirements are met.

* Re-measure completed works and process subcontractor payments.

* Prepare and present monthly Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).

* Handle and agree on variations and dayworks with clients and subcontractors.

*

Client Interaction:

* Manage valuations and variations with clients, requiring a sound understanding of JCT contracts.

*

Estimating Support:

* Provide estimating assistance when required, such as reviewing drawings and specifications.

*

Travel Requirements:

* Travel to project sites during working hours as necessary. While projects are based nationally, overnight stays are rarely required.

Qualifications and Skills:

* Demonstrable experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally with experience managing multiple projects.

* Strong working knowledge of JCT contracts and their administration.

* Proficient in cost management, reporting, and budgeting.

* Excellent attention to detail, with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

* Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the confidence to liaise effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.

* A practical, solution-focused approach to challenges.

Reporting Line:
The successful candidate will report directly to the Commercial Manager
