Polypipe Building Products works with national and local developers, plumbing and heating engineers, general builders and groundworkers to deliver above and below ground drainage systems, rainwater solutions as well as hot and cold plastic plumbing products.

Overview:

At Polypipe, we are passionate about what we do, and we are seeking a Driving Assessor to enhance the performance of our LGV (Large Goods Vehicle) and HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) drivers.

In this role, you will assess driver skills to ensure they operate safely and legally. Your key responsibilities include creating and implementing training programs through our Driver Academy, fostering continuous improvement, and promoting compliance with industry standards. By doing so, you will play a crucial role in improving safety, efficiency, and professionalism within our driving workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

To efficiently manage the day to day running of the Warehouse shift team members in the processing of all customer orders using the Voice Recognition System.

*

Ensure that a shift hand over is carried out on a daily basis with other Operational Leaders and Co-Ordinators.

*

Effectively communicate on a daily basis operational requirements to all team members through Shift Start Up meetings.

*

Support the achievement and continuous improvement of OTIF

*

Support the Inventory team on the processing, locating and supply of material and products.

*

To liaise with the business section Co-Ordinators on daily requirements.

*

Monitor team performance and act upon all issues and document in a timely manner and in line with continuous improvement.

*

To provide a development and training plan for all members of the team through the PDR process, ensuring regular reviews are conducted.

*

Motivate and develop personnel in order to maximise their potential and ensure that departmental and company goals are understood and met.

*

Ensure all incidents and accidents are reported, recorded and Investigated using the appropriate processes, documents and Alcumus.

*

Complete all issued Level Two Audits by the set completion dates.

*

Health & Safety – Ensure we keep our employees and visitors safe by providing suitable trained out SSW’s and procedures.

Skills & Requirements:

*

The candidate must have recent, relevant HGV driver training experience, along with relevant driver assessment qualifications.

*

Prior experience in developing and delivering training programs.

*

Maintain a current Driver CPC certification and have regular HGV driving experience.

*

Demonstrate competency in interpreting transport operations legislation.

*

Knowledgeable about driver hours and health, safety, and environment legislation.

*

Serve as an ambassador for safe, efficient, and professional driving behaviours and training.

*

Possess flexibility and a strong understanding of the haulage industry, with a focus on developing and supporting our Apprentices and Colleagues

*

Adapt training methods to accommodate diverse learning styles.

*

Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development to enhance driving standards and customer experience.

*

Collaborate closely with the Head of Learning & Development to ensure that all driver teams are trained to Polypipe standards while maintaining high levels of safety and compliance, alongside the support of Transport Management Team.

*

Possess an HGV Licence (C + E) and current Digi and DQC cards.

*

Ability to work autonomously without direction.

*

Exemplary customer service skills.

*

Experience in writing safe systems of work.

*

Qualifications, including LGV Fleet Instructor, PTTLS, AET, and Driver Assessor Certificate.

Strong teamwork skills, attention to detail, and excellent leadership capabilities.
