Specialist Occupational Therapist (Band 7)
Salary: £21,000

Our client, a high-dependency complex care service supporting men with learning disabilities and associated complex needs, is seeking an experienced Specialist Occupational Therapist to join their dedicated multidisciplinary team.

Working within a supportive and collaborative environment, the Specialist Occupational Therapist you will play a crucial role in promoting independence and enhancing the quality of life for each service user.
The ideal candidate will have
Qualifications and Registration: A degree in Occupational Therapy (BSc) and current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Clinical Experience: Extensive experience working with individuals with learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and complex mental health needs, ideally within high-dependency or specialist mental health settings.
Expertise in Assessment and Treatment: Proficiency in assessing and treating occupational dysfunction with a person-centred approach that supports service users' goals and enhances their quality of life.
Leadership and Supervision: Strong leadership skills with experience supervising or mentoring support staff.

As a Specialist Occupational Therapist, you will
Clinical Care:
Assess and treat occupational dysfunction for a small group of service users in a collaborative, supportive environment.
Work closely with a full multidisciplinary team on-site to ensure coordinated, holistic care.
Guide individuals in developing essential life skills through a structured clinical care model, supporting their journey toward greater independence.
Leadership & Supervision:
Oversee and provide clinical supervision to junior team members, including Occupational Therapy Assistants.
Report directly to the Regional Lead Occupational Therapist, ensuring the highest standards of care and professional support.
Service Development:
Participate in ongoing service improvement initiatives, contributing to the enhancement of OT services across the site.
Support site-wide Occupational Therapy provision with a person-centred, evidence-based approach.
Engage in professional development through structured appraisals and supervisions.
